The EnviroME symposium is a joint partnership between Emory University and Favor Academy of Excellence. The symposium is designed to educate young mothers on some of the environmental influences that may be hazardous to their health and empower them to make conscious and beneficial decisions. You can learn about Emory's Study here: http://www.nursing.emory.edu/c-chem2/about.html. There will be several community organizations available to discuss additional resources that the teen mothers may take advantage of. Our hope is to connect school social workers with the organizations that support the teenage parent population. We are requesting that you pass this information along to your Social Workers and students and with hope, register some schools as attending groups. Schools may register their student teen mother groups for this Free symposium at tinyurl.com/EnviroME. It is our hope that we can pack the house out with Cobb County School participants because the message is a necessary one. In addition, schools with small groups that won't fill a school bus may request complimentary shuttle service to event, but they would have to register their groups as early as possible to secure transportation. Information on our program can be found at: www.favoracademyofexcellence.org. Attached are the flyer details for the symposium along with a registration form. If you can help in any way, we'd greatly appreciate it. Interested organizations may feel free to contact me at: [email protected] or via phone at: 404-621-7824.
