Parents want the best for their children and teens so that means helping them with their homework, encouraging their hobbies and activities and talking with them about healthy relationships whether it's with a peer, teacher, etc. During Let's Talk month each year, young people and parents, trusted adults, or another caregiver are encouraged to communicate with each other about healthy relationships, their bodies, body image, reproduction, sexual behavior/activity, preventing pregnancy and STDs.
In Celebration of Let's Talk month, Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale County Health Departments and GCAPP are hosting a Parent Forum at Meadowcreek High School next Tuesday, October 30th from 6-8p - https://www.gcapp.org/parents. This event is geared to parents/adult caregivers/trusted adults and will provide tips on how to start conversation with your teens. We will also have a panel discussion with law enforcement, public health experts, parents and teens moderated by Fox 5's Evening Anchor, Marissa Mitchell.
