It is National Suicide Prevention Week and it is so important that we reach out to our students, parents and staff to make sure they know the warning signs for suicide and what to do if someone is struggling. Here are some suggestions:
Elementary Counselors: Share the Georgia Crisis Line 1-800-715-4225 with your staff and parents. Encourage them to Be Brave and Ask if they are worried about a friend or even their own child. Share warning signs with the adults in your building. Middle School Counselors: Share the warning signs with your staff and parents. Let your students know that they should talk to a Trusted Adult if they are worried that a friend may be thinking of hurting themselves. Share the Crisis Text Line 741741 (text HELLO) with your community.
